KOTA KINABALU, Oct 15, 2014:
Firemen received a different kind of distress call from a car owner at Taman Penglima in Beaufort today.
The call was to get their expert help to extract a four-metre long cobra that was hiding under a Toyota Vios bonnet.
According to the car owner, who only wants to be identified as Francis, he first heard a cat making noise near the car at 2pm and went to check.
“To my shock, I saw the cobra. I quickly chased it away with a stick but instead it escaped and hid in the car bonnet,” he said, prompting him to call firemen for their expert help.
It took the firemen about an hour to extract the snake from the car.
The snake has been handed over to the district Wildlife Department officials for further action.
